singing lessons

Every week I go to singing lessons with Sylvia Mitton.  I learn a lot about technique and how to use your voice effectively.  So far I have learnt a huge variety of songs that I would never have even heard of, a lot of them are much older than the music I chose to listen to.
The exam board am I on is the Musical theatre board as opposed to rock school.  So far I have taken my grade 1 and 3 and passed both with a distinction. I am now working towards my grade six for which I have to sing 4 songs. So far I have learnt three of the four songs I will sing. They are
1.       ‘on my own’ form les mis
2.       ‘ roxie’ from Chicago
3.       ‘Only the good die young’ from we will rock you.
The fourth song I have to sing has to have been written before 1920’s meaning it’s a lot harder to find a song to suit my voice.
I really enjoy my singing lessons and think that I will continue to do them until I leave the school. They really help me progress and help with my confidence.
